After a nice visit to the Azores, I parted ways with Diane and headed back to the mainland to visit my Portugal family, Luci, Charles, Theo, Florence, Luna (woof) and Monti (purrr). If you have been following me, you may remember, this is the family with a beautiful AirBnB who I spent a month with this past spring. Awe-inspiring Azores (Part 1 of 2)
After a quick visit in Colorado, I headed back to Europe where I met my friend Diane in the Azores. Here is what unfolded the first few days on São Miguel Island.
Riga, Latvia – A Beautiful City with Colorful Culture
Latvia had been on my bucket list for awhile, so I saved a few days before wrapping up my Europe adventure (for now!), and flew to Riga. From interesting culture and fun people to amazing architecture and quiet beaches and bogs, I enjoyed the few days to their fullest. Come on in and see what I found!
Tbilisi, Georgia – Fun in town between the adventures
I enjoyed so many things in this cool, welcoming city. From nice meals, to amazing photo walks, to an interesting experience at a steam bath...Tbilisi delivered! If you have a chance to visit, I'd absolutely recommend it!

A day trip to Armenia from Tbilisi, Georgia
I took a day trip from Tbilisi, Georgia to Armenia to visit some of the oldest monasteries and an interesting old Soviet cable car site. We were lucky to avoid the rain for most of the day and have a bit cooler weather with the clouds!
Georgia, Land of Beautiful Scenery and Amazing Adventure – Rainbow Mountains and David Gareji Monastery
After Romania, I gave up on my Eurail pass and flew to Georgia! This turned out to be the best decision! Here is my first adventure to the Rainbow Mountains and a couple of interesting monasteries where I also met a new friend! Come on in to start the Georgia journey with me!
