After a nice visit to the Azores, I parted ways with Diane and headed back to the mainland to visit my Portugal family, Luci, Charles, Theo, Florence, Luna (woof) and Monti (purrr). If you have been following me, you may remember, this is the family with a beautiful AirBnB who I spent a month with this past spring. When I decided to make my way back to Portugal, I couldn't leave without a visit!
A day trip to Armenia from Tbilisi, Georgia
I took a day trip from Tbilisi, Georgia to Armenia to visit some of the oldest monasteries and an interesting old Soviet cable car site. We were lucky to avoid the rain for most of the day and have a bit cooler weather with the clouds!
TimiÈ™oara, Romania – Cultural Capital of Europe 2023
After rerouting from my initial loose plan for Eastern Europe, I ended up in Timișoara, Romania. It is the third largest city in Romania, also known as the "City of Flowers" and "Little Vienna". Not having a plan, I enjoyed just being here and experiencing a bit of the local life in this European Cultural Capital of 2023! Please come on in to experience some of it's unique beauty!
Brilliant Budapest, Hungary
I rode the train from Vienna to Budapest to explore the castle on the hill, the beautiful parliament building, and many other pieces of amazing architecture and the towns humble history. I ended my stay with a beautiful cruise on the Danube during "blue" hour to seal in the beauty. Enjoy!
A Quick Stop in Barcelona, Spain
I stopped for 3 nights in Barcelona to see what the town was all about. I was able to visit some of the amazing Gaudi projects as well as many other spectacular architectural wonders. I hope you enjoy this little preview of the big city!
Lisbon, Portugal. Stairs and Steep Hills filled with Unique Charm!
Ahh, a nice change of pace and change of scenery. It was a long journey from Tokyo to Lisbon, but I made it and the sun is shining! I'm so excited to start my European adventure and share what I find!
