I’ve been busy the last couple of days! Yesterday we headed out in the morning and rented bikes at a local tour shop. We rode through some villages and found a great little vineyard. I’ve been busy the last couple of days! Yesterday we headed out in the morning and rented bikes at a local tour shop. We rode through several villages before finding a great little vineyard, Red Mountain Estate, where we did some tasting. From there we rode to Maing Thauk Forest Monastery. I have to admit, going up the mountain on the old rental bikes gave me a great workout! Yikes!
After lunch, we raced back into town and negotiated for a boat to take us to the lake lodge we decided to splurge on for a night. The sunset ride was beautiful followed by beers on the dock, a delicious dinner, then more beers up on the lookout tower. I slept awesome in our fun room with three beds….:-)
Today we are chillin’ on the dock for a bit before heading back into town. Tonight, I have a ticket for the overnight bus back to Mandalay (11 more hours of Paridise!). I will spend tomorrow there before flying back to Chang Mai, Thailand where I will crash for a night at the hostel before boarding the 3 day, slow boat to central Laos. I’m looking forward to the relaxing journey and gazillions (yes Linda, gazillions) more photos!!
