After a long journey on the public bus, I arrived last night in Tuk Tuk Village on Samosir Island. It is a large volcanic island in the middle of Lake Toba in Sumatra, Indonesia. I was lucky to catch the last ferry over and met several guys who live at my guest house on the ride. It was dark when we arrived and the family all welcomed me with open arms. We sat out on the balcony and they made me a delicious curry and played music and sang late into the night. It was so relaxing and so much fun!
This morning I got up and checked out the place. My room is in a traditional Batak style house just a few steps up from the lake. It is gorgeous….here are a few pics!
Next, I took a walk up the shore and continued to be amazed by how clean and beautiful the island is and how warm the people are. Everyone I passed greeted me with a hello and a big smile
This afternoon there is a bit of rain, but it looks like it’s clearing up so I can rent a scooter and find the waterfalls!!
Until then, hugs!
Looks beautiful!
